Evaluation of the Skills Health Check Pilots

This report presents the findings from an independent evaluation of the Integrated Skills Health Check (SHC) Pilots. The evaluation was conducted between January and March 2011 and involved desk based research to review key documents, a telephone survey with SHC customers in Wales and interviews with key stakeholders.

The report looks at the background and policy context behind the SHC pilots before assessing the implementation of the pilots and the experience of customers using the Skills Health Check.

The report ends by makes recommendations to inform the roll-out phase and build on the momentum of the pilots. The recommendations cover: operational and resourcing issues; data sharing between Job Centre Plus and Careers Wales; the use of ICT-based diagnostic tools; and, the future evaluation of the SHC.
