If you are involved in social research and based in Wales, there are a number of networks you may be interested in joining.

All Wales Analysts' Network (AWAN)

Who does it support? Researchers and analysts interested in crime reduction and community safety.

What are its objectives? To identify ways to facilitate discussion, networking and the exchange of information between researchers and analysts in Wales. Promotes the collation and dissemination of good practice in research methods and findings.

Clinical Research Collaboration Cymru (CRCC)

Who does it support? Clinical researchers.

What are its objectives? To increase the quality and quantity of research activity in Wales (especially large scale multi-centre trials) and allowing Wales to take advantage of opportunities offered by the UK Clinical Research Collaboration.

Social Research Association (SRA) Cymru

Who does it support? Social research practitioners and trainees from all sectors in Wales, as well as others with an interest in social research.

What are its objectives? To provide a forum for people working in a diverse range of settings to form wider contacts, exchange views and information, and pursue issues of common concern.

UKES Evaluation Cymru

Who does it support? Researchers from all sectors who are interested in evaluation. 

What are its objectives? To promote and improve the theory, practice, understanding and utilisation of evaluation and its contribution to public knowledge. Also promotes cross-sector and cross-disciplinary dialogue and debate.

WCVA Wales Voluntary Sector Research Network

Who does it support? People involved in or interested in research within or about the voluntary sector.

What are its objectives? To support and develop research by the third sector; to combat 'researcher isolation' by enabling researchers to share information and to update researchers on methodological advances.

Wales Institute of Social & Economic Research, Data & Methods (WISERD)

WISERD is a collaborative venture between the Universities of Aberystwyth, Bangor, Cardiff, Glamorgan and Swansea. 

What are its objectives? The strategic aim of WISERD is to establish itself as a sustainable research institute built on the active engagement of social science staff from across the Welsh HE sector and the involvement of a complex set of audiences/users in the public and private sectors.
