Ieuan Wyn Jones AM
Born in 1949, Ieuan Wyn Jones was educated at Pontardawe Grammar School; Ysgol y Berwyn, Bala; Liverpool Polytechnic; and London University. He is a qualified solicitor. Prior to his election as Leader, he was the party’s Business Manager in the National Assembly. He also chaired the Agriculture and Rural Committee until February 2000.
He was Member of Parliament for Ynys Môn from 1987 until 2001 and has been Anglesey’s Assembly Member since 1999. Ieuan Wyn Jones was President of Plaid Cymru – The Party of Wales from 2000 to 2003 and is currently Leader of the Plaid Group at the National Assembly.
A fluent Welsh speaker, Ieuan is married with three children. In his spare time he enjoys sport and local history.

- Road transport, including construction, improvement and maintenance of trunk roads in Wales , except those parts of the Second Severn Crossing and the approaches thereto which are situated in Wales (not devolved) (NB roads other than trunk roads are the responsibility of local authorities);
- Delivery of passenger rail services through the Wales and Borders franchise;
- Road Safety including provision of safer routes to Schools and transport for children and young people;
