Rhodri Morgan, the First Minister
The merger of ASPBs into the appropriate departments of the Welsh Assembly Government provides us with the opportunity to streamline the many brands and identities used hitherto across government.  From 1 April all functions for which the Assembly Government is responsible will operate under the Assembly Government brand, as logic would indicate.
Guidelines will still allow the effective use of different brands where necessary, such as for campaigns and in circumstances where the Government is working in partnership with other organisations.
The WDA, WTB, ELWa and ACCAC no longer legally or administratively exist and their brands are therefore discontinued.
The promotion of Wales externally is important and the Assembly Government has also been working on a new Wales brand to promote Wales overseas in a coherent way, to establish a consistent image of Wales which will motivate the world to buy what Wales has to offer; a brand that is as relevant to those promoting Wales as a tourist destination as to those promoting Wales as a business partner or as a place to study.  The new Wales brand will be rolled out over the coming months, together with two adaptations for tourism and trade/invest.
