Finance Wales

In early 2006 Finance Wales initiated a recruitment exercise for the appointment and/or reappointment of Non-Executive Directors for Finance Wales plc. This process was facilitated by an external recruitment consultancy.

In accordance with the Companies Act and Finance Wales Plc’s Memorandum and Articles of Association, such appointment decisions are taken by the Company Chair, Directors and Company Secretary. These appointments do not fall within the remit of the Welsh Assembly Government’s public appointment process.

In arriving at final decisions and in line with best practice, account was taken of the Nolan principles as well as Finance Wales plc’s guidelines for Board members. These guidelines have been in operation since the company’s inception in 2001 and cover roles and responsibilities, rules of conduct, business appointments and political activities.

Professor Dylan Jones-Evans’s contract expired at the end of June 2006. He was not re-appointed.
