The company made the decision to close its facility because of rising costs and falling sales over recent months. The decision was made on Friday 5 May and announced to staff on Tuesday 9 May, resulting in 52 job losses.

Job Centre Plus has been in discussions with staff since the day of the announcement, and on Thursday 18 May, an information surgery was organised with the former management team to enable staff to speak to Job Centre Plus, Careers Wales and Newport and Gwent Enterprise.  20 employees attended and received confidential advice on benefits, training and starting their own business.

Representatives from ‘Team Wales’ are currently working with a number of employees who are looking to start their own business within Torfaen.  Support will be ongoing.
