Andrew Davies, Minister For Enterprise, Innovation And Networks

Further to my Statement on 22 February I am pleased to be able to advise Assembly Members that I have authorised proposals to amend the existing arrangements for the National Assembly to provide Cardiff County Council (“the Council”) with the funding necessary to ensure that the Council can discharge its functions in or under the Cardiff Bay Barrage Act 1993, to enable the Council to maintain the properties transferred to it and to fulfil any other associated contractual rights and liabilities.

The amended arrangements, which come in to effect on 1 April 2007, are effected by a Deed of Variation between the National Assembly and the Council which has been signed and sealed today.  Full details are in the Deed of Variation – a copy of which will be placed in the Libraries of the National Assembly from 11.00am on Wednesday 28 March.
