Written - Convention

Members will be aware of the commitment in One Wales to work together to enhance the Assembly’s powers further so that we can deliver real and lasting change.  

It makes clear that we will use the current devolution settlement to the full but at the same time we want to proceed to a successful outcome to a referendum to give the Assembly full law-making powers.  A key step is to establish an all-Wales Convention, based on wide representation from civic society.

I am delighted to announce that Sir Emyr Jones Parry has agreed to chair the Convention.

Further details of the membership and terms of reference of the Convention will be considered by a group of AMs and MPs from both parties, as set out in One Wales.
