Written Statement - Counsel General Designate

This is to advise that I have today designated Theodore Huckle QC under section 49(6) of the Government of Wales Act 2006 to exercise the functions of the Counsel General in accordance with the provisions of that section.

Mr Huckle QC was born in Blaenavon and is a senior lawyer, who was awarded Silk this year, and who works in the Wales and Chester circuit.

I will bring forward a motion on Wednesday 8 June for the Assembly to approve the nomination.
