Bernard Galton

Bernard Galton joined the organisation as HR Director in 2004. A career Civil Servant, Bernard spent the majority of his career in the Ministry of Defence and three years as the Head of HR for the Central Office of Information. In 2009 Bernard was successful in an open competition for the role of Director General People Places and Corporate Services with wide ranging responsibility for HR, Learning and Development, ICT Services Estate Management and other corporate services functions. His role also has an external focus across the Welsh Public Service including Head of Profession for Human Resources.

Bernard is also a member of the UK Civil Service HR senior management team and Capability Group.

Bernard is married and lives in Bath. He has two grown up sons and a grand daughter.
