Consultation on an airspace change to establish segregated airspace for the Wales Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) environment

The Welsh Assembly Government is consulting on a proposal change to the airspace in West Wales in support of the unmanned systems sector at ParcAberporth (West Wales Airport).
Start of consultation: 05/05/2009
End of consultation: 25/09/2009
ParcAberporth, is being developed by the Welsh Assembly Government as a Centre of Excellence for research, testing, development, demonstration and the evaluation of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).

The current airspace configuration around West Wales Airport does not currently meet customer needs and therefore there is a requirement to establish permanent segregated airspace, to allow routine unmanned aircraft research, test, demonstration and training flights to take place on a frequent and flexible basis.
