Proposals to introduce regulations to give Welsh local authorities the power to establish federations of maintained schools in Wales

The Education (Wales) Measure 2011 received Royal Assent on 10 May 2011. The Measure includes provisions to give local authorities a power to establish federations of maintained schools by following a process to be set out in regulations.

This consultation is about the proposed content of those regulations, rather than about the established policy intent of extending the power to propose federations to local authorities.
