Draft Welsh Fire And Rescue Service Equality And Diversity Strategy

The purpose of this consultation is to seek views from a wider range of partners/interested organisations and individuals on the draft Welsh Fire and Rescue Service Equality and Diversity Strategy.
Start of consultation: 25/03/2011
End of consultation: 20/05/2011

In 2009, Equality and Diversity Officers from the three Welsh Fire and Rescue Authorities (FRAs) began work to develop an Equality and Diversity Strategy. The development of the Strategy has been co-ordinated through a Group made up of representatives from the three FRAs, the Assembly Government and the Welsh Local Government Association.

The draft Strategy takes account of the Equality Act 2010, and the proposed specific public sector equality duties. The commitments within the draft Strategy are set out under four key areas:

  • Leadership and Organisation Commitment
  • Citizen Centred Engagement
  • A Modernised and Equipped Workforce
  • Generating Outcomes - Effective Service Delivery and Performance Management
