Draft List of Statutory and Non-statutory Consultees in the Planning Application Process

The draft list seeks to identify:

• Legal (statutory) consultees in the planning application process; and
• all bodies and organisations, identified in national planning policy, guidance, and Circulars who should be consulted on planning applications.

Some bodies and organisations may be both statutory and non statutory consultees for certain types of planning applications.  The functions of some bodies may have changed over the years but the aim is to capture required consultees as at 1 July 2010.  

The key issues are have we have fully captured all the statutory and non statutory arrangements? And is the format and content of the list is useful?

Following this consultation, the final list will be used to inform a wider review of the statutory consultee process as set out in our response to Recommendation 7 of the Study to examine the planning application process in Wales.
