A487 Caernarfon to Bontnewydd study

Following the initial public consultation held between 1 March 2010 and 24 May 2010, and the suggestions and comments made, the Welsh Assembly Government and its Consultants (Parsons Brinckerhoff and TACP), have refined the options and developed new alternative options.

This exercise is part of a process designed to seek views on the need for public transport and/or road improvements, the options developed so far and any issues that should be taken into account when making decisions about addressing the transportation problems in the Caernarfon and Bontnewydd area.

All of the responses and information received as part of the study will be taken into account and carefully considered before deciding on the way forward. If any option or scheme is adopted it would be subject to the future satisfactory completion of any necessary statutory procedures and availability of finance.

Public Exhibitions

Details of the public exhibitions are below. Information relevant to this stage of the study including the current options to look at ways to relieve congestion, reduce road accidents and improve journey time reliability in and around the communities of Caernarfon and Bontnewydd, will be on display. Officials from the Welsh Assembly Government and its Consultants will be on hand to explain the proposals and answer any questions.
