Regulations, quality themes and standards
These are regulations governing social care in Wales. These are legal requirements, set by Welsh Government, which social care providers must comply with.
CSSIW’s inspection framework is structured around four quality themes; quality of life, quality of staffing, quality of leadership and management and quality of environment.
The National Minimum Standards set out the standards of care expected from care service providers.
Find out what to do if things go wrong
Each service provider is required to listen to and deal with any complaints from service users and their representatives. This section provides information about what to do if you are unhappy with the service you receive and what to do if you wish to complain about Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW).
Search our directory of regulated services
Providers of social care and early years services should be registered with CSSIW. Use our directory of regulated services found under our publications section to find a care service or to read an inspection report about a service.
