Here are a list of Frequently Asked Questions by members of the public contacting the CSSIW National Office enquiry line.

1. How do I become a registered childminder?

To become a registered childminder you need to contact the local office for your area. To locate your CSSIW office please refer to the Contact Us page.

2. How do I register with the Voluntary Approval Scheme?

You need to contact the CSSIW North Wales Regional Office on 0300 062 5609. Further information regarding the scheme can be located on the Voluntary Approval Scheme page.

3. How do I find an inspection report on the CSSIW website?

Inspection reports can be found using the search facility on the Find a care service or an inspection report page. if you are searching for a report and you know the name of the setting, please enter only the name of the setting and the location of the setting in the region field. If you would like to search by care category, please use the drop down menus provided. Once you have selected search, the results will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.

4. How do I locate a number for a particular CSSIW Office?

5. How do I locate National Minimum Standards and Regulations for care settings?

National Minimum Standards and Regulations can be found on the Providing social care services page. You will need to select the category of care you require, e.g. adult care, from the links on the left hand side to find the relevant National minimum Standards and Regulations.
