Joint working: the future of inspection and audit in Wales
Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW), Estyn, Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW) and the Wales Audit Office (WAO) are launching the website Inspection Wales, to help members of the public and the organisations they audit and review to have a better understanding of how they are working together.
The website has been set up following the strategic agreement that the four inspectorates launched in March 2011 to boost joint working arrangements.
The website aims to be the single point of contact for citizens who wish to find out more about how inspection, audit and regulatory bodies are working together to strengthen public assurance in Wales.
Visitors to the website will be able to access links to joint reports published by the bodies, including the report published last week by CSSIW and Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC), along with Estyn, HIW and Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Probation (HMI Probation) on Joint Inspection of local safeguarding children’s boards in Wales.
The website will continue to be developed jointly by the project staff who have been appointed to support the development of joint working between the four organisations, and the communication teams from each of the organisations.
A spokesperson for the four organisations said:
The launch of the Inspection Wales website, builds on the commitment made by the four inspection, audit and regulatory bodies in Wales to boost joint working arrangements. It provides citizens with a source of information that explains how and what the organisations are working on together, and how their collaborative approach is helping to improve public services in Wales.
