Children in need census circular: WAGC15/2009
This circular outlines what data is to be collected in the 2010 census and how it will be gathered.
What is the Children in Need (CIN) Census 2010?
The aim of the CIN census is to collect data about:
- children in need,
- children on the child protection register and,
- children looked after by local authorities.
A pilot of the CIN census took place in March 2009. The collection of data for the 2010 census will be about each individual child that is receiving social services on the 31st March 2010 and has been receiving services 3 months prior. The collection of data will be used to measure the characteristics and outcomes of these children.
