Inspection of Children's Services in Torfaen Social Services relating to the quality and timeliness of assessments and decision making regarding Looked After Children (LAC)
This inspection focussed on Children’s Services and in particular centred on better outcomes for children. It concentrated on the quality and timeliness of assessments and decision making in relation to Looked After Children (LAC).
The number of “looked after” children in Wales has shown a steady increase over the past 10 years and Torfaen like all other authorities has felt the impact of this. For those children who cannot return home, it is critical that they live in an environment which promotes stability and security and assists in the development of their resilience so that they can achieve the best outcomes possible.
