Performance evaluation of Neath Port Talbot 2006

Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales

Performance evaluation of Neath Port Talbot 2006

This evaluation is based on evidence collated by CSSIW and material submitted by the authority
The authority has identified risk arising from efficiency targets and it will have to monitor performance and service delivery in order to evaluate this. The authority has identified a number of significant challenges in its children’s services, including rising demand, performance in assessments and budget management and pressures. It has initiated a number of work strands to address these. It has continued to make progress in implementing the Integrated Children’s System, including rolling this out in some schools.

Strong effective partnership working continues to be a feature of the work within adult services. Major changes are being introduced as a result of re-structuring. It is essential that these are monitored closely to assess their impact on service delivery.
