Performance Evaluation of Caerphilly County Borough Council 2006
This evaluation is based on evidence collated by CSSIW and material submitted by the authority.
Caerphilly County Borough Council has a challenging modernisation
programme which it is implementing. The authority is increasingly able to
demonstrate that it is making progress and improvements in services as a
whole. Much remains to be done to improve the performance and quality of
services and the pace of change needs to be increased in some areas in
order to deliver the required levels of performance. A new management team
in the directorate and the restructuring of services provides a base on which
to build further improvement. The joint review in 2007 will provide the
authority with an in depth assessment of progress and help it to develop and
take forward its improvement agenda.
