Performance Evaluation of Bridgend County Borough Council for the Year Ending 31 March 2006
This evaluation is based on evidence collated by CSSIW and material submitted by the authority.
This year has been characterised by change within the authority at a corporate
level and within children’s services. There has been improvement in performance
in children’s services and this has continued in 2006 and staff have worked hard to
achieve this. Changes underway within the corporate directorate will be critical to
the future improvement in children’s social services. The authority has focused on
putting in place a framework from which it can improve and deliver better services.
A corporate improvement plan is being developed, and alongside this a single
action plan for children’s services. The challenge in the next year will be to
successfully implement these plans and to deliver better services and outcomes
for people using them.
