The Invest-to-save Fund, supports new ways of working in which services can be delivered more effectively and efficiently.
Grants are very important in Wales; specific grant funding is used more heavily in Wales than in any other part of the UK.

The Welsh Government and other statutory funders use grants as a powerful lever for achieving their policy objectives. They enable local government and the voluntary sector to provide specific services to Welsh people. Grants both initiate and sustain significant economic and social activity and also represent significant investments of time and taxpayers’ money.

A Grants Centre of Excellence has been established within the Welsh Government to ensure that a consistent and high quality approach is applied across all departments in the way that grants are allocated, managed, monitored and evaluated.

Where grants are available from the Welsh Government, different teams of staff across the departments advise, deal with and process applications according to the type of grant. Some schemes will be restricted to specific applicants, such as Local Authorities, businesses or voluntary organisations. Others will be open to individuals, perhaps those seeking financial assistance to continue studying or looking to start their own business. Go to the Gov.uk website for further information.

Individual queries on particular grant schemes or applications should be directed to the appropriate team within the Welsh Government. For more information about grant schemes available, please choose a topic area from the list on the left hand side of this page.
