Representatives from across the heritage sector will meet to consider the context for the historic environment and how this might influence future policy making, as developments for the forthcoming Heritage Bill continue.
The event is hosted by Cadw, the Welsh Government’s historic environment service, and takes place at the Welsh Government’s Rhodfa Padarn office in Aberystwyth.
Over 30 people attended the first workshop in Cardiff Bay on 2 February. Participants were asked to consider what the world might look like in the future and how this might impact on the way we value, conserve and benefit from the historic environment.
Housing, Regeneration and Heritage Minister Huw Lewis said:
“Consultation is key to ensuring our policies are fit for purpose. These workshops are a useful way to directly engage with those who have an expert or personal interest in the heritage sector.
“The first workshop generated a great deal of discussion and I look forward to hearing the outcome of this second event.”
The third Workshop takes place in Llandudno on 26 March. The Heritage Bill is planned for introduction in 2014-2015.
