Minister congratulates young Christmas card creator

The Christmas card competition was open to all children following the new and innovative Foundation Phase curriculum.  The play-based approach was introduced to all 3 to 4 year olds and many 5 year olds in Wales this September, and Sophie’s design was short-listed from the hundreds of entries received, and was voted the winner by pupils from Llancaeach Junior School, Nelson.

Sophie received a signed and framed copy of her winning card during a special presentation by the Minister at the Senedd.  The card is now being sent to organisations across Wales as the Minister’s official Christmas Card.  

The Minister said:

Thank you for all the wonderful cards which were sent to us, the standard of every entry was excellent.  Sophie’s cheerful drawing has made a wonderful Christmas card which is sure to delight all who receive it.
