Egg-cellent Welsh produce on offer this Easter

With the long Easter weekend just around the corner, what better way to celebrate than with a family feast of outstanding Welsh produce.

Kick off the bank holiday season in style, start as you mean to go on, support local producers and go Welsh this year.

Wales has a long list of award-winning food and drink companies the length and breadth of the country, make sure you take advantage of them and treat yourself to some traditional Easter fayre.

From warm tasty hot cross buns complimented with the best in Welsh butter, to home-reared fish, meat and vegetables, there's something for every palate.

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Food and Fisheries Alun Davies called on the people of Wales to buy local, saying:

"Easter is the perfect time to turn over a new leaf and try something new. This year why not make it Welsh food and drink?

"By buying and eating Welsh produce you are not only doing your bit to contribute to the Welsh economy, but to the environment too. By supporting the hundreds of small businesses in Wales offering the very best quality food you are helping keep people in local jobs and reducing the miles the food travels from field to plate. This also guarantees the freshest food you can buy.

"The Wales the True Taste brand is synonymous with flavour and quality and the True Taste Awards are helping the public to identify products of the highest quality and encouraging them to try and buy different foods and drinks. The Wales the True Taste website is also an excellent place for consumers to get information about great Welsh products, stockists and places to eat."
