Sitting alongside representatives from third sector organisations and representatives from community cohesion regional groups the Minister stressed that the Welsh Government would continue to do all it can to ensure no-one is living in fear of discrimination in Wales.
Jane Hutt said:
"I am committed to improving the quality of life for everyone in Wales. Whatever people’s background, they should have the same opportunities as everyone else.
"The Race Forum will play a key role in contributing to the development of a national strategic approach on Race Equality and will ensure that organisations with an interest in race issues have an opportunity to input into relevant policy issues.
"It will provide the expert support and advice we need in terms of understanding the key issues and barriers within BME communities and how to overcome them. It will also help us to share our knowledge and understanding of relevant information in order to develop clear, focused equality objectives."
