First Minister congratulates President Barack Obama on re-election

The First Minister will be writing to the US Ambassador to the United Kingdom Louis Susman to pass on his best wishes.

He said:

“On behalf of the people of Wales I would like to send my congratulations to President Obama on his victory in what was a tightly fought election.

“I wish him every success with his second term as he begins to face the many challenges that face not only the United States, but also the world.

“The President’s message of hope is one that resonates across the globe and I look forward to continuing to forge ever closer links between Wales and the United States.”
