The Health Centre, which includes a GP surgery and community health services, has recently been refurbished, and extra additional medical equipment purchased. The improvements were made thanks to more than £35,000 of funding from the Welsh Government and donations from local community groups.
The groups include Friends of Alyn Family Doctors, the volunteer run charity linked to the Health Centre, as well as Llay Royal British Legion. Llay Community Council also contributed to the project. The work mainly took place in evenings and at weekends to minimise the disruption to people attending the clinic.
Health Minister Lesley Griffiths said:
“High quality, accessible community health services are at the heart of the Government’s vision for the NHS, and providing the right environment is key to this.
“This project is an example of how strong working relationships between the Local Health Board, community groups and the Community Council are bringing benefits to Llay.”
