The helpline, called Dying Well Matters, will be hosted by the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and will be available across Wales. The number is 0300 100 2011 and it will be open from 10am to 10pm.
Officially launching the line at the health board’s Helplines Department in Wrexham the Health Minister said:
"I launched a consultation - Together for Health - Delivering End of Life Care in September this year. The introduction of the Dying Well Matters helpline will support the Welsh Government’s commitment outlined in the consultation, to provide effective end of life care and vital support to patients, carers and families at this particularly difficult and sensitive time."
The Dying Well Matters helpline brings the number of Wales-wide helplines operated by the centre in Wrexham to five, all funded by the Welsh Government. The other helplines are; CALL- Wales Mental Health helpline, DAN 24/7- Wales Drug and Alcohol Helpline, Wales Dementia Helpline, Health at Work Advice Line Wales and Health for Health Professionals Helpline.
