Funding for Domestic Abuse Services in Wales

Voluntary organisations and Community Safety Partnerships who provide domestic abuse support services across Wales are to receive a share of £4.16 million funding, Local Government and Communities Minister Carl Sargeant announced.
Tuesday 03 April 2012

The Domestic Abuse Services grant scheme provides revenue and capital funding for organisations to provide facilities and support services for any victims of domestic abuse and violence against women.

Carl Sargeant said:

"The Welsh Government is determined to do all it can to help victims of domestic abuse and to ensure they are supported and can live safely within their local communities.  There are many organisations across Wales who are providing a valuable service to victims of domestic abuse.

"These organisations work tirelessly to take victims out of harms way and help them to rebuild their lives.  I am pleased to be able to ensure that this work continues during 2012-13."

The Domestic Abuse Services grant scheme provides revenue and capital funding for organisations that provide services on a national level or local services that have relevance to the whole of Wales, all of whom assist with the delivery of the "The Right to be Safe" integrated violence against women strategy and Domestic Abuse strategy.
