The statistical report gives an overview of the characteristics of each of the six collaborative footprint areas announced by Local Government Minister, Carl Sargeant last Summer.
The report includes the people characteristics of each area such as age profile, population density, employment and life expectancy as well as area characteristics such traffic flow, levels of recorded crime and rates of social housing stock.
The Minister said:
"Meeting the growing, complex needs of citizens in the current financial climate requires fundamental changes quickly. We have neither the finance nor the capacity to deliver the high quality services the people of Wales deserve unless we work together.
"Knowing the needs and circumstances of the people local authorities and others serve will help ensure regional collaboration meets those needs. Our public services collaboration footprint means that we will work together on a more stable, long term footing, so that our partners will be able to deliver quality public services across Wales."
The Minister added:
"I am pleased that we are making progress in implementing a practical programme of action which will support the delivery of improved services against a backdrop of continuing financial challenges.
"The Compact for Change we have agreed with Local Government, sets out a clear, shared agenda for change supporting regionalisation of services on the footprint where this best serves the people of Wales."
