Talent Management

The Talent Management and Succession programme aims to develop organisational capability through people and processes and provides tangible outcomes to support the Government’s Efficiency and Innovation programme.  

Themed around the current public service context, a range of opportunities are available.  These allow senior leaders from across the public service to meet and share practical examples of good practice in order to deliver efficient and effective services.  These opportunities explore the practicalities of different approaches and ideas through formal presentations and informal conversations, embedding new ideas and perspectives.

Wales-wide Talent Management Strategy Group

Working together with the public and third sector community, the Talent Management Strategy Group will develop a Wales wide talent management strategy.  This strategy will seek to build on current examples of success to inform a systems wide approach that integrates talent management with effective succession planning.

The group is chaired by Mary Burrows, CEO, Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board and membership of the group comprises of Directors of Human Resources, Chief Executives from Local Government and the third sector.

Insight Tours and Seminars

The suite of Insight Tours and Seminars aim to raise awareness of practical examples of existing good practice.   They provide a credible way of encouraging individuals to gain knowledge and insight by observing case studies from other public, private and voluntary sector organisations.  The aim is that participants will adopt some practical ideas of efficiency and innovation; thereby increasing the transfer of evidenced based efficiency and innovation across the service.
