Indicative Funding Allocations To Careers Wales Companies - 2009-10 (Saesneg yn unig)

The Deputy Minister for Skills has approved the issue of Indicative Financial Allocations to Careers Wales companies for financial year 2009-10.

Date of decision / Dyddiad y penderfyniad:

24 March 2009.

Statement of information / Datganiad gwybodaeth:

The Deputy Minister for Skills has powers under the Education and Training Act 1973 Sections 2 and 8-10 to provide an all-age careers service in Wales.

These services are delivered by discrete Careers Wales companies limited by guarantee, each covering a specific operational area.

The funding for the core Careers Wales service is informed by an allocation formula that takes account of the main Careers Wales client groups and also includes an element based on sparsity to reflect the additional delivery costs in rural areas. This formula is updated each year to reflect latest data.

Having considered the formula, and after discussions with the Careers Wales companies, the Deputy Minister for Skills has been asked to approve the following Indicative Financial Allocations to Careers Wales companies for the period April 2009 to March 2010:

Cardiff and Vale £6,248,294

Gwent £6,261,505

Mid Glamorgan and Powys £8,878,456

North East £4,081,236

North West £4,867,165

West £9,783,508

The Indicative Financial Allocations provide each company with a forecast of income upon which to base its business plan for the period April 2009 to March 2010. Each business plan is subject to approval by the Welsh Assembly Government.
