Commissioning of research on Wales’ current position in the unmanned aircraft systems sector

The Minister for Business, Enterprise, Technology and Science has approved funding of up to £6,000 for the commissioning of research.

The Minister for Business, Enterprise, Technology and Science is asked to approve funding to commission a review of Wales’ position within the European unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) sector. The study will identify potential market opportunities, as well as establishing any challenges to be addressed in enabling Llanbedr Airfield to undertake UAS activity.

The Welsh Ministers have the power under section 60 of the Government of Wales Act 2006 (c.32) Part 2 to: do anything they consider appropriate to achieve the promotion or improvement of the economic well-being of Wales.
