Written Statement providing an update on Safeguarding in Pembrokeshire

The Minister for Education and Skills and the Deputy Minister for Children have agreed to issue a written statement updating Assembly Members on the work of the Pembrokeshire Ministerial Board and improvements to arrangements for safeguarding in Pembrokeshire.

Date of decision / Dyddiad y penderfyniad:

29 March 2012

Statement of information / Datganiad gwybodaeth:

Welsh Ministers appointed the Pembrokeshire Ministerial Board in October 2011.  The Board’s role is to provide challenge and support to Pembrokeshire County Council as it develops and implements its plan to improve safeguarding arrangements in its education services.  This followed a critical joint investigation by CSSIW and Estyn in August 2011, and a further report in September 2011 by the Ministerial Advisory Board set up to provide support and challenge to the local authority in developing its response to the joint investigation.

Ministers have given regular updates to Assembly Members in the form of written or oral statements.  An update in the form of a Written Statement is issued before the beginning of the local government elections.
