Developing the draft compact and taking it through to public consultation (Saesneg yn unig)

Together for Health was published in November 2011 and set out a five year vision for the NHS in Wales.   This vision covers seven major areas where change needs to happen including the development of a new partnership with the public.  

The Minister for Health and Social Services stated there will be a sea-change in the relationship between Welsh Government, the NHS and the people of Wales, based around a ‘compact.’  A compact is a developing conversation about how together we can improve health and health services and an evolving agreement about what health services should be like in the future.

The Minister has committed to issue the compact for public consultation in August.  Her agreement has been sought to an initial draft of the document and it being shared informally with key stakeholders to aid its development for consultation.
