Safe Routes in Communities funding allocations 2012-13

The Minister for Local Government and Communities has agreed to allocate £5 million to Safe Routes in Communities projects across Wales.

The Safe Routes in Communities is a Capital grant provided to Local Authorities on an annual basis.  The grant is for the development of safe walking and cycling routes to community facilities which include schools, hospitals, leisure centres, youth and community centres and parks.  

The Minister for Local Government and Communities has been asked to allocate £5 million capital funding to local authorities for schemes to be delivered in 2012/13.
