Major Repairs Allowance Potential Allowance 2012/13

The Minister for Housing, Regeneration and Heritage has approved the Potential Allocation of the Major Repairs Allowance for 2012/13 to Local Authorities.

MRA is a capital grant to local authorities and forms part of their overall housing capital resources. It may be used for any capital expenditure on HRA assets. It may not be used to fund demolition costs, to repay debt, or to support borrowing for capital purposes.

The basis for calculating the allocation of MRA for each local authority is consistent with previous years.

This submission seeked the approval of the Minister for Housing, Regeneration and Heritage to the potential allocations for 2012-13, subject to compliance with MRA Terms and Conditions.

For 2012-13 the “all Wales” average MRA is £682 per dwelling.
