Funding of Wales’ four Regional Tourism Partnerships through Visit Wales

The Minister for Business, Enterprise, Technology & Science approved the continued funding of the four Regional Tourism Partnerships for 2012/13 in line with remit letter requirements. However, a review of regional structures, performance, value for money and longer term funding options will be undertaken to report before August 2012.

The Minister for Business, Enterprise, Technology & Science is being asked to approve payments to Wales’ four Regional Tourism Partnerships to enable them to take forward their regional tourism strategies which are aligned to Wales’ national tourism strategy Achieving Our Potential.

The Welsh Ministers have the power under section 60 of the Government of Wales Act 2006 to do anything they consider appropriate to achieve the promotion or improvement of the economic well-being of Wales.
