Proposed expenditure for hosting journalist visits around Wales

The Minster for Business, Enterprise, Technology & Science is being asked to approve proposed expenditure to cover expenses for journalists’ visits around Wales as part of Visit Wales’s media relations activity in line with its Business Plan for 2011-12.

The expenditure is for a number of media visits covering the Olympics 2012 and the opening of the Wales Coast Path (hiking and biking) and other Wales areas, Journalists are from the following countries:
 
 - UK
 - Netherlands
 - Belgium

Welsh Ministers have the power under section 60 of the Government of Wales Act 2006 (c.32) Part 2 to: do anything they consider appropriate to achieve the promotion or improvement of the economic well-being of Wales.
