Visit Wales media group visits during the Olympics and Paralympics 2012

The Minister for Businesses, Enterprise, Technology & Science has agreed to Visit Wales’ proposed expenditure for hosting a number of PR visits around Wales during the period of the Olympics and Paralympics.

The Minister for Business, Enterprise, Technology & Science is being asked to approve expenditure to cover a series of nine visits to Wales during the nine week period of the Olympics and Paralympics 2012.  These visits will be utilised to encourage media coverage for Wales linked to this event globally.

The trips will be promoted by BETS-Visit Wales and PR colleagues from Visit Britain, Visit Ireland, Visit Scotland and Visit England via their presence in the Unaccredited Media Centre in London.

Welsh Ministers have the power under section 60 of the Government of Wales Act 2006 (c.32) Part 2 to: do anything they consider appropriate to achieve the promotion or improvement of the economic well-being of Wales.
