WAGC21/07 - Safeguarding Children Fund 2007/2008

This letter sets out arrangements to assist further developments in safeguarding and child protection procedure and practice during 2007-2008 and announces provision of £124,000 to support this.

It is addressed to Directors of Social Services in recognition of the social services role and responsibilities currently set out in Safeguarding Children Working Together under the Children Act 2004 for ensuring that there is currently a Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) covering their area.

Again this year, in addition to work commissioned directly within its development programme CSSIW is allocating monies to local authorities to promote multi-agency child protection work and quality assurance of such work as part of the development programme 2007-2008.
