NAFWC46/06 - Analysis of the Financial Position of the Further Education Sector 2004/05

INTRODUCTION

This circular informs institutions of financial health performance indicators for the further education sector in Wales as shown by the finance record and audited financial statements for 2004/05.

Key financial ratios and figures which give an indication of each institutions financial position are provided in Tables 1 to 16. These are based on the finance records
returned by institutions. In some cases there are small differences between the way in which financial information is presented in the Finance Record, when compared with an institution’s financial statements. Each table includes brief notes on coverage and the data sources. Notes on the definitions used are provided in
Annex A.

The sector’s income and expenditure account, balance sheet and cash flow statement are provided in Tables 17 to 19.

In all the tables, minor differences may arise due to rounding.
