A report which presents information on enrolled learners and their activities by age, gender, mode of study, type of programme and level of study.

Key points

  • There were 229,555 learners at FE Institutions, Community Learning or Work-based Learning providers during 2012/13, a reduction of 0.7 per cent on 2011/12.
  • Within this fall in the total FE/WBL/CL population, learner numbers at FE institutions rose by 3.8 per cent for full-time learners but declined by 8.0 per cent for part-time learners.  Total local authority community learning fell by 12 per cent.
  • Work-based learning provision rose by 14.5 per cent to over 61,000 learners in 2012/13, higher than in any of the previous five years.
