Programme background

The Môn a Menai Programme was announced in October 2006 as a response by the Welsh Government and its partners to the decommissioning of Wylfa power station and its effects.

The Action Plan for Môn a Menai published in February 2008 sets out a comprehensive regeneration programme for the area. The programme aims to secure the future prosperity of Anglesey and Gwynedd, based on a strong economic hub on both sides of the Menai Straits. The Action Plan is being delivered in partnership with the local authorities, educational institutions, and the private and third sectors.
