Potential impact in Wales of the CSR and Budgetary measure by the UK Coalition Government

Within the UK Budget announcements, specific proposals are considered to have a significant impact on children and young people in Wales. These are principally arising from proposals for welfare reform.

This paper drawing on analysis undertaken by the Institute of Fiscal Studies (IFS) looks at the potential impacts on Welsh children and young people.  The IFS’ independent analysis concludes that families with children are "the biggest losers". This paper looks at the impact in Wales with its higher proportion of benefit recipients who have dependent children.
