Statutory guidance on local authority responsibilities towards former looked after children in custody.
The guidance sets out how local authorities in Wales should ensure a representative visits young people who are detained in a custodial setting. This requirement applies to young people who had previously been in the Authority’s care under voluntary arrangements.  Such young people should receive appropriate advice, support and assistance similar to other children who are looked after.
