The European Association of Regional and Local Authorities for Lifelong Learning (EARLALL)

Participation in this Association’s work spans across a wide range of our policy areas, though primarily in the post-16 field.

The Association’s objectives are three-fold:

  • a vehicle for regional governments to lobby on the development of EU policy in the lifelong learning field;
  • facilitating cooperation between member regions to promote policy learning and policy transfer;  and
  • encouraging the development of joint European funded project activity.

EARLALL Activity

EARLALL project activity is varied, and Wales does not participate in all elements, but engages only in those that best meet our needs.  Currently we are working with partner regions to facilitate the greater mobility of learners from schools and colleges, practitioners and, wherever possible, policy staff of participating Governments.

We also actively engaged in the development of methodologies for peer learning and policy transfer between partner regions.  This is essentially looking at what other regions have experienced in specific policy areas, so we can learn from a wider range of tried and tested methodologies.
